Governor Balochistan stresses democratic responsibility, meets parliamentarians

Quetta, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that democracy is not merely an electoral process but a system of governance based on public rule, collective responsibility, and inclusive politics. He emphasized that democratic institutions must raise awareness among citizens about their rights and responsibilities, strengthen social justice, and safeguard constitutional rights.

Speaking at the Governor House Quetta during a meeting with provincial ministers Mir Asim Kurd Gillo, Noor Muhammad Dummar, MPA Zarak Khan Mandokhail, and Parliamentary Secretary Muhammad Khan Lehri, the Governor said that the government is taking concrete measures to strengthen governance at all levels.

He highlighted the importance of bringing youth into the national mainstream, noting that they are the true asset of the nation. He stressed the need to provide them with quality education, employment opportunities, and digital skills aligned with modern requirements.

Governor Mandokhail underscored that newly elected representatives carry significant political and social responsibilities. Instead of creating divisions, they must work to promote national unity and mutual respect, becoming the effective voice of the silent majority in their constituencies.

He added that the government’s economic policies are steering the country out of financial challenges, but it is essential to translate economic stability into public prosperity by expanding business, trade, and employment opportunities.

The Governor further stated that the strength of democracy depends not only on government institutions but also on the conduct, transparency, political tolerance, and continuous engagement of elected representatives with the people. He urged lawmakers to prioritize collective goals and public welfare above political affiliations, ensuring constitutional supremacy, rule of law, and social harmony.
