UN Women delegation meets Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi to discuss women’s development in Balochistan
Quetta, Advisor to the Chief Minister Balochistan on Women Development, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, held a meeting with UN Women representatives, Dawood Nangyal and Saira Lehri, to review initiatives and future plans for women’s empowerment, protection, and economic independence in the province.
The meeting discussed ongoing government measures, policies, and projects aimed at advancing women’s education, health, skills development, and employment opportunities. Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen institutional cooperation to ensure women’s access to resources and opportunities.
Dr. Rubaba Buledi stated that women’s empowerment remains a top priority of the provincial government, noting that sustainable socio-economic progress cannot be achieved without women’s economic independence. She highlighted the government’s practical steps to provide women with skills, jobs, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
She further stressed the importance of improving access to basic healthcare, particularly maternal and child health, and called for coordinated efforts among government institutions, international development partners, and civil society to address women’s challenges effectively.
Dr. Rubaba Buledi underscored that expanding collaboration with UN Women would make development projects more impactful and result-oriented. The UN Women representatives appreciated the government’s efforts for women’s empowerment and expressed interest in strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.
The meeting also covered issues of gender equality, women’s protection, health, education, and skill development, reaffirming the shared commitment to advancing women’s role in Balochistan’s socio-economic progress.
