Shahid Rind rejects BNP-Mengal’s statement, calls it politically prustrated

The Aide to Chief Minister Balochistan for Media and Political Affairs Shahid Rind has strongly rejected and termed as “ridiculous” the statement issued by the BNP-Mengal spokesperson, claiming that the Chief Minister Balochistan suffers from “Akhtar Mengal phobia.”

In his sharp response, Shahid Rind clarified that the Chief Minister has no such phobia, rather it is Sardar Akhtar Mengal himself who repeatedly mentions the CM in every speech, which reflects political frustration. He pointed out that during the past two and a half years, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti never issued any statement against BNP-Mengal or its leadership until provoked by their remarks.

Shahid Rind stressed that whenever attempts are made to intimidate through tribal titles, the government will respond in the same language. He noted that despite the derogatory remarks and lowly language used by BNP-Mengal’s leadership recently, the government chose to respond in a political manner, highlighting the difference in character and conduct.

He further questioned BNP-Mengal’s claims of popularity, stating that the party could not win Khuzdar’s National Assembly seat without the support of JUI. He reminded that in 2013, when JUI allied with the National Party, BNP-Mengal failed to secure the seat, while in 2018, with JUI’s alliance, they managed to win. He added that BNP-Mengal’s electoral success in 2018 was only possible because of the broader political wave benefitting PTI at the federal level and BNP in Balochistan.

Shahid Rind also criticized BNP-Mengal’s stance on missing persons, questioning the credibility of their claims. He asked where the 500 individuals allegedly released through BNP’s efforts are now, whether they are at home or back in the terrorist camps from where they were originally apprehended. He urged BNP-Mengal’s leadership to provide clear answers to the public on these issues.
