Section 144 imposed across Balochistan to safeguard public order

Quetta, The Balochistan government has enforced Section 144 across the province for a period of 30 days to ensure public safety and maintain law and order. Assistant to the Home Department, Babar Yousafzai, announced that the measure aims to protect citizens’ lives and property while preserving peace and stability.

Under the order, the public display of weapons, gatherings of five or more people, rallies, protests, and similar activities in public spaces have been strictly prohibited. The government has also banned the use of masks, veils, or any means of concealing identity in public places, citing security concerns.

The restrictions, effective immediately from September 23, will remain in force for 30 days throughout Balochistan. Babar Yousafzai emphasized that violators will face legal action under relevant laws. All law enforcement agencies and district administrations have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the order.

“These measures are intended to guarantee public peace, tranquility, law and order, and the protection of citizens’ lives and property,” Yousafzai stated.
