Progress in PPP School Project: Rs. 12.58 Million Released for Classroom Construction in Quetta and Pishin

 

Quetta, Under the Public-Private Partnership initiative, significant progress has been made in the construction of additional classrooms in schools, with the Project Management Unit (PPMU) releasing Rs. 12.58 million in second, third, and fourth installments to 10 Parent-Teacher School Management Committees (PTSMCs) in Quetta and Pishin.

 

The distribution ceremony was chaired by Secretary Education, Lal Jan Jaffar, who reviewed ongoing construction work in various schools. Project Director Najeebullah Tareen briefed participants on project progress, construction quality, and the phased release of funds. He explained that a total of Rs. 35.28 million has been allocated for classroom construction in the 10 schools, with Rs. 12.58 million disbursed so far based on work completion and quality standards.

 

Najeebullah Tareen emphasized that funds are released in stages, following technical and social evaluations, and only after quality control checks by PPMU’s technical staff and partner organizations SMIP and IEQA.

 

Secretary Education Lal Jan Jaffar praised the initiative, describing the construction of additional classrooms through PTSMCs as a positive step. He commended the transparency and performance of the Project Management Unit, particularly acknowledging the efforts of Project Director Najeebullah Tareen and his team.

 

During the ceremony, PTSMC chairpersons and head teachers shared their experiences and highlighted school-specific issues and needs, which were discussed in detail. Following the event, Secretary Education held a meeting with the Project Director to review overall progress, construction standards, transparency, and future plans.

 

At the conclusion of the visit, PPMU presented a commemorative shield to Secretary Education, while regional coordinators and engineers joined him for a group photograph.

 

Officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring that classroom construction under the project continues with transparency, quality, and adherence to set procedures, providing students with a better and more conducive learning environment.
