PPAF Brings Communities Together for Nation-Wide Independence Day Celebrations Across Pakistan under the “Together We Are for a Resilient and Rising Pakistan” Campaign

Islamabad, August 13, 2026: “Independence Day offers us an opportunity not only to commemorate our shared history but also to renew our collective commitment to building a peaceful, inclusive and prosperous Pakistan. The celebrations planned nationwide demonstrate the value of strong partnerships among government institutions, development partners, civil society and communities in promoting unity, social cohesion and active citizenship,” said CEO Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) Nadir Gul Barech.

Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety(PASS) through Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), Paigham-e-Pakistan, and Federal and Provincial Centres for Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), is organizing 176 Independence Day celebrations and events across Pakistan under the national campaign “Together We Are for a Resilient and Rising Pakistan.” The initiative brings together communities, youth, women, civil society, Partner Organisations and other stakeholders to celebrate the national occasion and promote unity, peace, inclusion, social cohesion and civic responsibility.

CEO PPAF emphasized that national occasions provide meaningful platforms for institutions and communities to come together around shared values and national aspirations. He noted that development partners can contribute beyond programme implementation by using their partnerships and grassroots networks to strengthen community participation and civic engagement.

The celebrations are being facilitated through PPAF’s network of Partner Organisations across Pakistan. PPAF Partner Organisations will organize these events in multiple districts, providing communities with opportunities to participate in Independence Day celebrations while promoting peace, unity, resilience and social harmony.

The collaboration with PMYP, Paigham-e-Pakistan and Federal and Provincial CVE Centres brings together stakeholders working in youth engagement, peacebuilding, community development and social cohesion. Through the “Together We Are for a Resilient and Rising Pakistan” campaign, the partners aim to reinforce a shared vision of a united, peaceful and progressive Pakistan.
