PDMA Balochistan deploys rescue force for Chehlum emergency response in Quetta

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan has deployed its Rescue Force at key locations across Quetta to reinforce emergency arrangements during Chehlum processions in Muharram‑ul‑Haram 2026. Acting under the directives of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Khan Bugti and instructions from Relief Commissioner and Director General PDMA Jahanzeb Khan Ghorezai, the deployment is being supervised by Deputy Director Asghar Ali Jamali to ensure operational readiness, coordination, and swift response.

As part of the emergency framework, PDMA has mobilized fire tenders, ambulances, and professional rescuers, including Emergency Medical Technicians, who remain on high alert to provide immediate assistance in case of any unforeseen incident. The rescue teams have been tasked with safeguarding public safety and delivering medical and rescue support throughout the processions.

Deputy Director Jamali stated that the deployment reflects PDMA’s comprehensive emergency response strategy, developed in close coordination with the District Administration and allied departments. He added that the teams will remain on duty until the peaceful conclusion of all Chehlum processions in Quetta, ensuring that citizens can observe the occasion with confidence and security.
