Minister Zia Langove assures traders of solutions, urges unity against misinformation
Home Minister Balochistan Mir Ziaullah Langove, flanked by leaders of the Anjuman Tajran Balochistan, held a press conference in Quetta to address traders’ concerns and reaffirm the government’s commitment to peace and public welfare.
Speaking to the media, Zia Langove described traders as an important segment of society and emphasized that resolving their issues is the government’s responsibility. He acknowledged the right of citizens to peaceful protest, noting that traders had registered their grievances and then sat down with the government for dialogue. “The government will remove traders’ reservations, and a committee has already been formed to address their concerns,” he announced. The committee will include the Deputy Commissioner and Administrator Quetta.
The Home Minister assured that the problems of 986 shopkeepers and Haleem Plaza traders would be resolved, a commitment echoed by Anjuman Tajran leader Abdul Rahim Agha, who announced the postponement of protests following government assurances. “Traders’ demands are genuine, and their issues will be resolved,” Zia Langove reiterated.
He also addressed broader security concerns, stating that all parties had participated in the Ziarat martyrs’ committee and warning against misleading the public. “Fake news is spread on social media, but the reality is that law and order challenges stem from anti‑state elements,” he said. Zia Langove stressed that securing national highways is a collective demand and pledged that curfews and operations would be imposed wherever necessary to counter terrorism.
Highlighting recent developments, he noted that terrorists leave no opportunity to spread unrest, and law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing suspects. He confirmed that raids are underway to arrest those involved in the killing of Asma Jatak’s father.
The Home Minister concluded by reaffirming the government’s determination to ensure peace, protect lives and property, and maintain the continuity of development across Balochistan.
