Merit-based appointments revive 560 schools in Naseerabad Division
Quetta, Under the vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, and Senior Member Board of Revenue Qambar Dashti, merit-based recruitment has brought significant improvements in health, education, and revenue departments across Naseerabad Division over the past year.
Led by Commissioner Salahuddin Noorzai, a divisional committee filled long-vacant posts in various departments strictly on merit, resulting in improved performance and better delivery of basic services to the public.
In the health sector, 296 doctors, pharmacists, and dental surgeons were appointed, enhancing medical facilities and public health services across the division. In the education sector, 2,054 male and female teachers were recruited in four phases, enabling the reopening of 560 schools that had remained closed due to lack of staff.
The revenue department also saw progress under the special directives of the Senior Member Board of Revenue. A total of 66 employees were appointed on a permanent basis, while 87 patwaris were hired temporarily. Among them were long-waiting candidates such as Abdul Jabbar and Muhammad Siddiq, who had been awaiting appointments for nearly three decades. Siddiq, who completed his patwar course in 1992, expressed joy at finally receiving his appointment order, calling it “a moment of happiness after a long wait.”
Officials confirmed that all appointments were made transparently, ensuring adherence to merit and rules. The primary objective of these measures is to fill vacant posts in government institutions and guarantee improved delivery of essential public services in health, education, and revenue sectors.
