Gwadar Safe City project advances rapidly, modern surveillance network nears completion

Under the vision of transforming Gwadar into a modern, secure, and smart port city, the Gwadar Safe City Project is making swift progress.

Director General Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Moin‑ur‑Rehman Khan held a meeting with Project Director Dr. Asif Khan Barech at his office, where Chief Engineer GDA Haji Syed Muhammad was also present. Dr. Barech briefed the DG on the latest developments, ongoing construction, and upcoming phases of the project.

He informed that underground cabling and installation of poles for advanced security cameras at key, sensitive, and busy locations across the city have been nearly completed. The next phase will involve the installation of modern surveillance cameras. Work is also accelerating on the central complex and Command & Control Center, which will integrate all cameras into a unified digital network, enabling round‑the‑clock monitoring through advanced technology.

DG GDA Moin‑ur‑Rehman Khan emphasized that Gwadar is Pakistan’s economic future and an emerging hub for global investment, attracting attention from international investors and businesses. He said providing a secure environment for citizens, investors, foreign experts, business leaders, and tourists is essential.

He added that the Safe City Project will not only modernize Gwadar’s security infrastructure but also create a conducive environment for investment, trade, and development activities. Timely completion of the project is among GDA’s top priorities, and relevant departments have been directed to further accelerate the pace of work.
