Gwadar, Member Provincial Assembly Gwadar Maulana Hidayat‑ur‑Rehman and Director General Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Moin‑ur‑Rehman Khan formally inaugurated several development projects completed under the GDA Old Town Rehabilitation Plan.

The inaugurated projects include the renovation, expansion, and upgradation of Government Girls High School Gwadar, along with the construction of Captain Yaqoob Raahi Volleyball Ground and Abdullah Asim Futsal Ground.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Engineer GDA Haji Syed Muhammad, Superintendent Engineer Roads and Building Controller Nadir Baloch, Superintendent Engineer Buildings Sheh Asif Ghani, Project Director Old Town Rehabilitation Mir Doda Khan Marri, Project Director Water Mir Jan Baloch, District Education Officer Zahid Hussain, Female Education Officer Zarkhatun, school administrators, and other officials.

Following the inauguration, the MPA and DG GDA also carried out plantation drives within the school and sports grounds. They inspected various sections of the Girls High School, reviewing the educational and civic facilities provided by GDA.

Briefings highlighted that the school’s infrastructure has been significantly improved, including construction of additional classrooms, tiling, boundary walls, main gates, examination hall, auditorium, cafeteria, water tanks, sheds, play areas, transformers, furniture, and restoration of old structures.

Similarly, the sports projects have provided upgraded facilities such as boundary walls, basic infrastructure, beautification, and recreational amenities to promote healthy activities among youth and students.

Speaking to media, MPA Maulana Hidayat‑ur‑Rehman said the inauguration of these education and sports projects is a valuable gift for the people of Gwadar, particularly students and athletes. He noted that the Girls High School now resembles a modern educational institution rather than a conventional government school, and the upgraded sports facilities will directly benefit the local community.

DG GDA Moin‑ur‑Rehman Khan stated that the Old Town Rehabilitation Plan aims to improve the living standards of Gwadar’s residents by providing essential civic, educational, and recreational facilities. He emphasized the strong interest of youth in sports, noting that the newly built futsal ground near the Girls High School will encourage greater participation in healthy activities.

He appealed to citizens to treat these facilities as their collective property and ensure their protection and maintenance, stressing that all projects are funded by public resources for the benefit of the community.
