Governor Jaffar Mandokhail announces Rs. 10 Million seed money for Islamia University, cash awards for top students
Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has reaffirmed his commitment to education, announcing the establishment of Islamia University and pledging Rs. 10 million as seed money for its foundation.
Addressing a ceremony at Islamia Girls College, organized by Anjuman Islamia Balochistan, the Governor said that education remains his deepest priority and interest. He assured that the proposed university will be developed into one of the finest institutions in Balochistan, with support from donors and philanthropists abroad, including the United States.
Jaffar Mandokhail also announced cash prizes of Rs. 100,000 each for the top three position holders of Islamia College in the recent FSc examinations conducted by the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. He distributed certificates, awards, and shields among the position holders during the ceremony.
Highlighting the historic role of Islamia educational institutions, the Governor recalled that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah once referred to Islamia High School as “Little Aligarh.” He said thousands of graduates from Islamia Boys and Girls Schools and Colleges are serving in diverse fields across the country.
Jaffar Mandokhail emphasized that the time has come to elevate Islamia College to the status of a university, ensuring its sustainability and growth. He added that modernizing the health and education sectors remains among the government’s top priorities, expressing hope that Islamia University will soon be ranked among the country’s leading institutions.
He encouraged students, particularly young women, to focus on artificial intelligence, robotics, digital economy, quality education, and scientific research, stressing that an educated girl not only transforms her own destiny but also shapes the outlook of her family, trains a generation, and ultimately guides society in the right direction.
The Governor concluded by assuring students that with proper environment, quality education, and equal opportunities, they can turn every dream into reality.
