Governor Balochistan vows priority resolution of workers’ issues through consultation with Labour Unions
QUETTA, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that the provincial government will address the problems and challenges faced by workers across Balochistan on a priority basis in consultation with labour union leaders, emphasizing that the welfare and protection of workers’ rights remain among the government’s key priorities.
Addressing a ceremony organized jointly by the Pakistan Muslim League-N Labour Wing and various labour unions, the governor said all provincial ministers were being directed to play a more active role in addressing public grievances and ensuring relief for citizens, including members of the labour community.
He said former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had always attached special importance to the welfare and well-being of workers, adding that the labour force plays a fundamental role in the country’s economy and development. “The resolution of workers’ issues and the protection of their rights are among our foremost priorities,” he said.
Congratulating Naseem-ur-Rehman Malakhel on his election as convener, the governor noted that he possesses extensive political experience ranging from grassroots activism to leadership at higher levels.
The ceremony was attended by Provincial Minister Mir Asim Kurd Gello, Member of the National Assembly Akhtar Bibi, Adviser to the Chief Minister Naseem-ur-Rehman Malakhel, Member of the Provincial Assembly Zarak Khan Mandokhail, Amir Khan Mandokhail, Zaman Malakhel, Younis Baloch, Chaudhry Shabbir, Waheed Kasi, labour leaders, office-bearers of the Labour Wing, representatives of various unions and a large number of workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Mandokhail praised the active role of MPA Zarak Khan Mandokhail in Quetta and said elected representatives had kept their offices open to the public to ensure that citizens’ complaints are heard and addressed through effective measures.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to identifying labour-related issues in consultation with union leaders and stakeholders and taking practical steps for their resolution. He stressed that effective coordination and cooperation among the government, elected representatives and labour organizations could play a crucial role in improving workers’ welfare and resolving their legitimate concerns.
Provincial Minister Mir Asim Kurd Gello congratulated the Labour Wing on organizing a successful event and acknowledged the vital contribution of workers to national development and progress.
MNA Akhtar Bibi said the prosperity of workers would contribute directly to the prosperity of Pakistan, emphasizing the need to become the collective voice of industrial workers.
Addressing the gathering, Naseem-ur-Rehman Malakhel said Governor Mandokhail had remained committed to the Pakistan Muslim League-N since his student days and thanked him for attending the Labour Wing event despite it being a holiday.
MPA Zarak Khan Mandokhail said efforts were continuing to safeguard workers’ rights and resolve their issues, assuring participants that the concerns of the Labour Wing would be addressed.
Meanwhile, Amir Khan Mandokhail said workers play a fundamental role in the country’s development and prosperity, adding that all stakeholders were actively working to resolve their problems and improve their welfare.
