Governor Balochistan highlights media’s role in strengthening democracy
Quetta, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that politics and journalism are complementary fields, and a responsible media plays a vital role in making citizens aware of their rights and responsibilities. He emphasized that print, electronic, and social media professionals are held in high regard and that he has always maintained cordial relations with the journalist community.
The Governor expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of the Pakistan Journalists Association (PJA), led by its Balochistan President Muhammad Hanif Jamali. The delegation included Muhammad Shahid Magsi, Huma Baloch, Sameera Rajput, Mehwish, Firdous, Fariya Batool, Ms. Noreen, Ms. Duniya, Jehanzaib, Akram, Arun Kumar, Muhammad Shehzad, Feroz Jamali, and Muhammad Zafar Jamali.
Mandokhail underscored that media is a crucial pillar of the state, and professional journalists work tirelessly to uphold their standards and integrity. He noted that free and responsible journalism highlights public issues, ensures institutional accountability, and strengthens the bridge between citizens and government institutions.
He reiterated that the doors of the Governor House have always remained open for media professionals and the public alike. “Journalists’ issues and professional needs have always been given importance, and every possible cooperation will continue,” he assured.
The meeting concluded with Governor Jaffar Mandokhail cutting a cake to mark the 12th founding anniversary of the Pakistan Journalists Association.
