Environmental protection department highlights eco‑friendly initiatives in Gwadar

Assistant Director of Environmental Protection, Tariq Baloch, has said that under the people‑friendly vision and sustainable development policy of the Balochistan government, the Environmental Protection Department Gwadar is implementing several eco‑friendly projects. These initiatives focus on environmental conservation, effective enforcement of laws, monitoring of industrial and development projects, tree plantation, pollution control, and public awareness.

He noted that with the cooperation of relevant institutions, the department has undertaken environmental monitoring of development projects, assessment of environmental impacts, timely redressal of public complaints, awareness programs in educational institutions, plantation drives, and measures for the protection of natural resources. The aim of these activities is to promote a healthy, clean, and environmentally friendly atmosphere in Gwadar.

According to the department, future plans under the provincial government’s policy include continued efforts to safeguard the environment, address climate change, ensure sustainable use of natural resources, and raise public awareness. These steps are intended to transform Gwadar into a green, safe, and sustainable district.
