DIG Quetta issues strict instructions to SHOs on citizens’ complaints
Quetta, Deputy Inspector General of Police Quetta, Imran Shoukat, has taken notice of citizens’ complaints regarding theft, snatching, and other street crimes, issuing strict directives to all SHOs for immediate legal action.
He emphasized that upon receiving information about a cognizable offence, police officers must ensure registration of FIRs in accordance with the law, rather than merely recording entries in the daily register. DIG Shoukat warned that any deliberate negligence or failure in registering FIRs would result in departmental action against the responsible officers.
He further directed Divisional SPs and SDPOs to personally monitor such cases in their respective jurisdictions to guarantee transparency and accountability. DIG Shoukat assured that citizens’ complaints would be addressed promptly, ensuring timely legal proceedings and redressal.
He added that in case of any police-related issue, citizens may lodge complaints directly through the Quetta Police website or approach the concerned officer’s office, reiterating that “the doors of police are always open for the public.”
