DG Fisheries inspects licensing, net regulations in Gwadar; stresses transparency and marine protection

Director General Fisheries Balochistan Atiqueullah Khan visited Gwadar to review the ongoing process of license registration and inspection.

During the visit, he directed officials to ensure that all procedures are completed transparently and in strict compliance with fisheries laws and regulations. He was accompanied by Director Marine Ahmed Nadeem and other senior officers.

Later, the DG Fisheries inspected the Gwadar Harbor Jetty, where the size of fishing nets used by local fishermen was examined. Officials checked both prohibited and permissible nets, stressing that effective enforcement of regulations is essential to safeguard marine life and promote sustainable fishing.

Atiqueullah Khan also visited the Gwadar Fisheries Office, where he inspected various branches including the licensing and accounts sections. He instructed staff to carry out administrative tasks with transparency, merit, and adherence to rules, while ensuring timely facilitation for fishermen.

Expressing satisfaction over the office’s performance, he urged employees to strengthen their responsibilities under the fishermen-friendly policy and assured them of full cooperation and support.
