Defence Day honors sacrifices of Armed Forces and Martyrs: CM Sarfraz Bugti

Quetta, Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces, martyrs, and veterans on the occasion of Defence Day, describing September 6 as a defining moment in national history that reminds the nation of the unparalleled sacrifices made for the defense of the motherland.

In his message, Sarfraz Bugti recalled the 1965 war, when officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army displayed extraordinary courage and determination, defeating the enemy’s designs. He said the nation continues to honor the martyrs and veterans who safeguarded the country’s sovereignty and security, noting that Pakistan’s defense history is written with examples of sacrifice, bravery, and national unity.

Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that the martyrs are the benefactors of the nation, and their families are held in the highest respect. He added that in today’s era, defending the homeland requires not only protecting borders but also strengthening national unity, economic stability, education, development, and peace. “A strong, stable, and prosperous Pakistan is the guarantee of a secure future for our coming generations,” he stated.

Highlighting Balochistan’s contributions, Bugti said the province has always stood firm for the country’s security and stability, with its martyrs laying down their lives for defense and peace. He also acknowledged the sacrifices of security forces and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism, stressing that the nation will never let these sacrifices go in vain.

The Chief Minister noted that Defence Day provides an opportunity to renew the pledge of national unity, to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty at all costs, and to work collectively for development, prosperity, and peace. He concluded his message with prayers for the elevation of martyrs’ ranks, the well-being of veterans, and the progress and stability of Pakistan.
