Commissioner Zeeshan Lashari chairs DMC meeting; reviews security, anti-narcotics, and education initiatives in Quetta Division

Commissioner Zeeshan Lashari chaired a meeting of the Divisional Monitoring Committee (DMC) to review progress on key matters including law and order, security, anti-narcotics and poppy eradication, as well as the functioning of educational and health institutions across the division.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini, Deputy Commissioner Quetta West Munir Ahmed Durrani, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Syed Kaleemullah, and Deputy Commissioner Mastung Behram Khan (via online link). Officials from police, excise, customs, FC, NADRA, Special Branch, ANF, and other departments also participated.

Discussions focused on the regular convening of District Implementation Committees (DICs), timely submission of minutes, uploading of complaints and actions on the BISA dashboard, profiling of terrorists and facilitators, and updated district-level data of individuals listed in the Fourth Schedule. Commissioner Lashari directed all Deputy Commissioners to hold District Intelligence Coordination Committee (DICC) meetings regularly and ensure updated profiles of terrorists, facilitators, and sensitive elements in collaboration with intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

The meeting also reviewed the establishment and operational status of Joint Response Centers (JRCs). Districts where JRCs have not yet been set up were asked to provide details of obstacles, current progress, and future plans. On anti-poppy/cannabis operations, it was reported that Deputy Commissioners are conducting initial surveys to collect data on cultivation areas, land status, and current crop conditions.

Commissioner Lashari instructed that district-level security assessments be updated, highlighting vulnerabilities, remedial measures, and required provincial government support. Reports must be submitted promptly. In the education and health sectors, data on madrassa regulation, action against absentee teachers, reactivated schools and BHUs/dispensaries, and monitoring of public and private hostels will be presented in the next meeting.

He also directed updates on actions against unregistered vehicles, ensuring all data is uploaded to the dashboard with focal persons present in future meetings. Pending reports must be completed without delay to guarantee effective monitoring and practical measures for law and order, security, and public service delivery.
