CM Sarfraz Bugti vows improved governance and local resolutions in remote areas of Balochistan
Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that government officers and staff must prioritize public service and avoid unnecessary delays in addressing citizens’ problems. He noted that resolving issues locally would spare residents the hardship of traveling to the provincial capital, Quetta. The Chief Minister visited his native area in Northern Dera Bugti where he met tribal elders and local residents, engaging with them in traditional Balochi style and listening to their concerns. During the visit, he personally heard complaints related to various departments and issued immediate directives to officials for resolving several public issues on the spot. Sarfraz Bugti said that the government is working to strengthen governance systems in remote areas so that citizens can access basic facilities and services at their doorstep. Highlighting progress in education, he said that hundreds of previously closed schools have been reopened and made functional. “Education is the foundation of national and family development, and the government is committed to providing quality learning opportunities for Balochistan’s children,” he remarked. On the security front, the Chief Minister praised the sacrifices of security forces and law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism, declaring their efforts as vital for peace in the province. He condemned terrorists for targeting innocent civilians, stressing that the nation will never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs. “Even in Independence Day celebrations, we have not forgotten our heroes. The martyrs who laid down their lives for Pakistan’s defense and peace are the pride of the nation,” he said. Tribal elders expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, acknowledging the government’s special focus on the development of underprivileged areas. They noted that large-scale development projects in Northern Dera Bugti and other remote regions are a significant achievement of the current administration. They also appreciated the visible improvements in health and education sectors and commended Bugti’s immediate action on public grievances during his visit.
