CM Balochistan Condemns India’s revocation of Articles 370 and 35(A), reaffirms solidarity with Kashmiris
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, in his special message on Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, strongly condemned India’s unilateral revocation of Articles 370 and 35(A) in August 2019, terming it an illegal, one‑sided move in violation of international law. He said the action was aimed at undermining the identity, rights, and historical status of the Kashmiri people.
Sarfraz Bugti expressed full solidarity on behalf of the people of Balochistan with the residents of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, noting that they have endured decades of oppression, coercion, and grave human rights violations. He warned that attempts to turn Kashmiris into a minority in their own land are not only reprehensible but also a clear breach of United Nations resolutions and global legal norms.
“The people of Balochistan condemn India’s actions in the strongest terms and fully support the Kashmiris’ right to self‑determination,” Bugti stated, adding that the only fair and lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute lies in implementing relevant UN Security Council resolutions in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
He urged the international community to take effective notice of human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir, highlight the atrocities, and increase pressure on India to honor its international obligations. Bugti emphasized that the Government of Balochistan, in complete solidarity with the federal government, demands that Pakistan’s longstanding political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri cause continue with the same resolve and consistency.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering stance, Bugti declared that the people of Pakistan and Balochistan will never abandon their Kashmiri brothers and sisters, and will stand by them at every level in their struggle for self‑determination, freedom, and justice. He said Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir is a reminder of Pakistan’s renewed pledge to support the Kashmiri people until their legitimate rights are achieved.
