Panjgur, The University of Makran hosted a dignified ceremony to distribute scholarship letters to 125 deserving students under the Chinese Ambassador Scholarship program. The scholarships, provided by the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, were awarded through the university’s transparent Need‑Based Scholarship Program to ensure support reaches financially disadvantaged students.

He described the scholarship as a symbol of Pakistan‑China friendship, mutual trust, and academic cooperation.
Dr. Mir Sadat Baloch highlighted that the University of Makran has formally launched its first Need‑Based Scholarship Program, establishing a structured and transparent system to assist financially challenged students. The Chinese Ambassador Scholarship was distributed under this framework, with the selection of 125 students carried out by the Need‑Based Scholarship Committee, which included university representatives, district administration officials, and external education experts. The committee ensured impartiality by evaluating merit alongside financial need.
He further explained that the scholarship funds will be adjusted against tuition fees, enabling students to continue their education without interruption. The Vice Chancellor emphasized that the university strives to provide equal educational opportunities and prevent students from abandoning studies due to financial hardship. Alongside need‑based support, the university continues to award merit scholarships each semester to encourage academic excellence.
Concluding the ceremony, Dr. Mir Sadat Baloch expressed gratitude to the Government of China and the Chinese Ambassador for their generous support. He noted that such initiatives not only help deserving students pursue education but also strengthen the longstanding friendship and educational ties between Pakistan and China. He pledged that the University of Makran will continue efforts to introduce more scholarship programs in collaboration with national and international institutions.
