BRA issues key Instructions on tax rate and POS integration for beauty parlors, clinics, and slimming centers
The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has issued important directives for beauty parlors, beauty clinics, slimming centers, and other personal care service providers regarding sales tax rates and mandatory Point of Sale (POS) integration under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act, 2015.
According to BRA, the general sales tax rate applicable to these services is 5 percent. However, for registered service providers who ensure mandatory POS integration with the BRA web portal, a reduced rate of 2 percent will apply. To benefit from this concessional rate, service providers must fully link their POS systems with the BRA portal and issue all tax invoices and receipts exclusively through the electronic POS system. Issuing invoices or receipts outside the POS system will not be acceptable.
The authority further clarified that input tax credit or adjustment will not be admissible on these services.
BRA has directed all relevant businesses to immediately complete registration, integrate their POS systems, file returns on time, and ensure tax payments in accordance with the law. The authority emphasized that compliance is essential to avoid legal action and to maintain transparency in the tax system.
