BEEF reaffirms commitment to education on World Literacy Day
Quetta, On the occasion of World Literacy Day, Chief Executive Officer of the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF), Khalid Mandai, reiterated the institution’s resolve to promote education and secure a brighter future for students across the province.
Khalid Mandai emphasized that literacy and quality education are the foundations of sustainable development, economic prosperity, and social stability. He said BEEF’s core mission is to provide talented and deserving students with opportunities to pursue education without being hindered by financial constraints, enabling them to polish their skills and realize their potential.
Highlighting the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, Khalid Mandai noted that under the Taleem Dost Vision, education has been prioritized as a key driver of progress. He stressed that no capable child in Balochistan should be deprived of education due to lack of resources.
BEEF, he added, is expanding educational opportunities through a comprehensive scholarship system covering all levels — from school to higher education. These include programs for matriculation, intermediate, ADP/ADE, DAE, BS, cadet excellence, out-of-province education, higher education, special categories, and international initiatives such as the Oxford Pakistan Programme and Foreign PhD Programme.
According to available data, BEEF has awarded 23,520 scholarships under various schemes to date. These include partial scholarships for BS and university students, district topper scholarships at matric level, cadet excellence awards, special scholarships for marginalized groups, and support for advanced studies both within and outside the province.
Khalid Mandai underscored that scholarships are not merely financial assistance but long-term investments in Balochistan’s human capital. “Providing a student with the chance to complete education strengthens families, empowers communities, and secures the province’s future,” he said.
He added that World Literacy Day serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to extend the benefits of education and literacy to every segment of society. With proper guidance and support, Balochistan’s youth can play a pivotal role in driving the province’s development and prosperity.
Khalid Mandai reaffirmed BEEF’s commitment to continue expanding its services on the principles of merit, transparency, and equality, ensuring effective support for students in accessing quality education.
