Bazai tribal delegation meets Commissioner Quetta over security check post concerns
A delegation of the Bazai tribes, led by Member Provincial Assembly Malik Naeem Khan Bazai, met Commissioner Quetta Division Zeeshan Lashari to discuss issues faced by the tribes in Agbarg and Nohsar, including law and order concerns and matters related to security check posts.
During the meeting, tribal elders conveyed their reservations regarding the check posts and the difficulties faced by the local population.
The delegation provided a detailed briefing on the utility, current locations, functioning, and possible relocation of various check posts.
Tribal representatives noted that while some check posts are vital for maintaining peace and security in the area, others have created hardships for residents.
They demanded that the relocation and functioning of check posts should take into account the concerns of the local population and ground realities.
Commissioner Zeeshan Lashari assured the delegation that their issues would be addressed on a priority basis. He directed the Deputy Commissioner Quetta West to take necessary steps to resolve the concerns related to the check posts.
He instructed officials to conduct on-site visits to assess the current situation, necessity, and challenges faced by the people, and to submit a comprehensive report. He emphasized that decisions regarding the relocation and functioning of check posts must be based on ground realities.
The Commissioner reiterated that all possible measures would be taken to maintain peace and order in the region, stressing that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the government’s fundamental responsibility. He assured that the concerns of the public and tribal elders would be taken seriously and resolved through mutual consultation.
The meeting was also attended by Malik Abdul Rahman Bazai and other tribal elders. The delegation expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for his assurance of immediate action to resolve their issues.
