Balochistan’s youth future lies in sports, jobs, peace: Sarfraz Bugti
CM announces major sports competitions across all districts to keep grounds active, provide youth with platforms to showcase their talent
Quetta, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that the future of Balochistan’s youth is tied not to mountains and conflict but to sports grounds, employment opportunities, and a peaceful Pakistan. He stressed that while misguided narratives once pushed young people into a futile war and placed guns in their hands, the provincial government is now taking practical steps to integrate them into the national mainstream through positive activities, jobs, and development opportunities.
Speaking to the media at the final of the All Pakistan CM Balochistan Gold Cup Football Tournament at Ayub Stadium Quetta, the Chief Minister congratulated the Sports Department, provincial sports officials, organizers, and spectators on the successful event. He presented trophies to the winning Afghan Club and runner‑up teams, noting that the day marked a moment of pride for Balochistan.
Sarfraz Bugti announced that major sports competitions will be held across all districts to keep grounds active and provide youth with platforms to showcase their talent. He added that employment and livelihood programs are being launched to ensure young people understand their future lies in education, sports, jobs, and building a peaceful society — not in terrorism or violence.
He highlighted that past attempts to isolate youth from the state through misleading narratives had failed, and today the government is present among the people, engaging directly with them. He emphasized the need for meaningful dialogue, merit‑based governance, and elimination of corruption to bring youth into the national fold.
The Chief Minister contrasted the government’s efforts to gather people for sports and celebrations with terrorist elements who assemble crowds for violence and attacks. Addressing the KP Chief Minister, he remarked that citizens should be united for games and festivals, not for assaults on the federal capital.
On public complaints regarding the condition of Sadiq Shaheed Football Ground and the nearby family park, Sarfraz Bugti issued immediate instructions for renovation and repair to provide better facilities for players and families. He reaffirmed that the provincial government stands shoulder to shoulder with the state and its institutions in the fight against terrorism and is prepared to make every sacrifice for peace, stability, and development in Balochistan.
