Balochistan Assembly Standing Committee reviews citizen facilitation and good governance bill 2026

 

Quetta, The Standing Committee on Home Affairs of the Balochistan Provincial Assembly convened to deliberate on the Balochistan Citizen Facilitation and Good Governance Bill, 2026.

 

By consensus, Kher Jan Baloch was elected Chairman of the committee and presided over the session. Committee members Ali Madad Jatak, Provincial Home Minister Ziaullah Langau, Asghar Ali Tareen, Zareen Magsi, and Obaidullah Gorgij attended, while Leader of the Opposition Mir Younus Aziz Zehri joined the meeting on special invitation.

 

The session was also attended by Assembly Secretary Tahir Shah Kakar, Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqat, Additional Secretary Law Saeed Iqbal, Special Assistant Home Babar Yousafzai, and other relevant officials.

 

The bill aims to establish an integrated and accountable civil administrative system to ensure effective citizen services and promote good governance across the province.

 

Proposals include defining the responsibilities of civil administration, creating mechanisms for citizen facilitation, grievance redressal, inter-departmental coordination, performance-based accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.

 

The draft also emphasizes improved coordination among provincial departments, district administration, and local authorities to ensure efficient delivery of public services.

 

Committee members reviewed various clauses of the bill, shared their opinions, and offered suggestions for improvement. At the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman Kher Jan Baloch thanked members for their participation and constructive input.
