Addressing the meeting, Mir Sarfraz Bugti stressed the importance of creating an enabling environment for employment generation, saying that technical education and skills development were essential for placing young people on the path to economic self-reliance.
He directed that youth be provided with training aligned with modern requirements and labour market demands so they could secure employment both within Pakistan and abroad, improve their families’ economic conditions and contribute meaningfully to national development.
The chief minister instructed relevant authorities to formulate a comprehensive strategy to ensure that the 25,000 trainees expected to complete technical education programmes by next year become active participants in both the national and global economy. He emphasised that training programmes must be aligned with actual employment needs and should not be limited to imparting skills alone, but should also facilitate access to job opportunities.
The meeting also underscored the need to accelerate implementation of the programme aimed at training 30,000 youth in various trades and facilitating their placement in overseas markets. Mir Sarfraz Bugti said transforming the capabilities of young people into marketable skills was a pressing requirement and called for improvements in the performance of technical training institutions, strict quality assurance and stronger coordination among relevant organisations.
Participants also reviewed the slow progress in achieving targets under the Chief Minister Youth Skills Development Programme. The meeting was informed that action had already been initiated against those responsible for delays and negligence in achieving programme objectives.
The chief minister directed authorities to speed up implementation of vocational training projects and ensure regular monitoring of institutional performance to meet assigned targets.
Highlighting the potential of Balochistan’s youth, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the province possessed a talented young population whose abilities could be utilised effectively to drive economic growth and prosperity.
He reiterated the need to make technical education and vocational training programmes result-oriented so that young people could secure dignified employment, achieve greater economic independence and become productive contributors to both the national and international economy.
