Balochistan achieves significant progress in Immunization coverage, Minister Kakars praises health teams
Balochistan has achieved the highest position nationwide in immunization coverage, reaching 56.6 percent, according to the independent survey TPVICS Round 3 conducted by Aga Khan University. This reflects a 19 percent increase compared to previous years, marking a major milestone in the province’s healthcare efforts.
The Balochistan Health Department attributed this success to the joint and sustained efforts of the department and the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI). Officials stated that the achievement demonstrates the effectiveness of government initiatives aimed at protecting children from preventable diseases.
Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar expressed satisfaction over the progress, commending the performance of health teams and EPI staff. “A healthy and prosperous Balochistan is our dream, and all available resources are being utilized to achieve it,” he said. He emphasized that the government is committed to providing basic healthcare facilities and safeguarding children and citizens against treatable illnesses.
Bakht Kakar reaffirmed the government’s pledge to secure the future of the province by ensuring that the new generation grows up healthy, strong, and productive. He described the rise in immunization coverage as a practical reflection of this commitment.
The minister further noted that the progress was made possible due to the strong leadership of the Chief Minister, improved governance, effective monitoring, and allocation of additional resources to the health sector. He vowed to intensify efforts to expand immunization coverage, extend healthcare services to remote areas, and protect children from deadly diseases.
