CM Balochistan announces International Calligraphy exhibition “Bayan al‑Marsous” in Quetta

To be held on May 9 and 10, linked to broader celebrations under theme of Marka‑e‑Haq

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has announced that Quetta will host an international calligraphy exhibition titled “Bayan al‑Marsous” in May next year, featuring renowned calligraphers and artists from across the Islamic world, including Turkey and other countries. The Balochistan government will sponsor the event, which is expected to become a landmark cultural occasion for the province.

The Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the “Rasool‑e‑Rehmat (PBUH)” calligraphy exhibition in Quetta on Tuesday. He said that holding such events in August, coinciding with Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations, sends a powerful message that Balochistan has both the capacity and determination to organize programs of international standards.

Sarfraz Bugti revealed that he had requested calligrapher Wasil Shahid to organize the global exhibition next May.

He directed officials to begin preparations immediately, ensuring the exhibition is held as a two‑ or three‑day international event to allow artists from around the world to showcase their work in Quetta.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the exhibition will highlight Quetta’s identity as a city of peace and culture, deeply connected to Islamic calligraphy. He announced that the event will be held on May 9 and 10, dates he described as significant for Pakistan’s historic achievements, and will be linked to broader celebrations under the theme of “Marka‑e‑Haq.”

Sarfraz Bugti also underscored Pakistan’s growing global stature, noting that recent defense cooperation between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan reflects a changing international environment. He clarified that such cooperation is not intended for aggression but purely for defense.

Addressing internal challenges, the Chief Minister criticized a small group attempting to achieve its objectives through violence in Balochistan, warning that sabotage of infrastructure and disruption of trade harms only the local population. He reaffirmed that “Pakistan’s journey of decisive victory cannot be stopped by any power in the world,” praising the unity and resilience of the nation.

Sarfraz Bugti lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for strengthening Pakistan’s global standing, which is also being positively felt by overseas Pakistanis. He expressed gratitude to calligrapher Wasil Shahid and Serena Hotels for organizing the exhibition, calling it a proud day for Balochistan.

Concluding his remarks, the Chief Minister prayed for Pakistan’s continued dignity in the international community and for the country’s progress and prosperity.
