Balochistan Investment Board showcases blue economy potential in Karachi meeting

 

Karachi, Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBOIT), Bilal Khan Kakar, met representatives of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and members of Karachi’s business community to discuss opportunities in the blue economy, marine resources, fisheries, and aquaculture.

 

During the meeting, participants held detailed discussions on the vast potential of shrimp farming in Balochistan’s coastal areas, investment prospects, and modern methods to strengthen the sector. Kakar emphasized that Balochistan’s long coastal belt possesses extraordinary capacity for the promotion of the blue economy. He noted that sustainable development of marine resources and aquaculture through public‑private collaboration could generate new employment opportunities while further stabilizing the national economy.

 

The session was also attended by directors of AquaVision Consultants (Private) Limited, Asif Rasheed and Adil Amjad. The participants agreed on the importance of promoting investment in shrimp farming and other coastal projects, adopting modern technology, and ensuring effective private sector involvement.

 

Bilal Kakar reaffirmed that the BBOIT is committed to facilitating investors and strengthening partnerships to unlock the province’s coastal potential, paving the way for economic growth and prosperity.
