Gwadar MPA Hidayat‑ur‑Rehman highlights role of science and technology at World Space Week event
Gwadar, Member of the Provincial Assembly from Gwadar, Maulana Hidayat‑ur‑Rehman Baloch, has said that science and technology are the fundamental strengths of developed nations, urging youth to acquire modern knowledge and technological skills to contribute to the progress of the country and the region.
He expressed these views while addressing participants at the conclusion of a “Space Walk” organized by Gwadar Grammar School along Gwadar Marine Drive as part of World Space Week 2026. Hidayat‑ur‑Rehman said science and technology are the means to uncover the mysteries of the universe created by Allah, and nations that have mastered knowledge and innovation are the ones advancing rapidly. He encouraged students to pursue education with dedication, learn modern sciences, and apply their abilities for national and regional development.
The World Space Week celebrations in Gwadar began with the Space Walk, where students displayed posters, placards, and creative costumes on space themes. Parents, citizens, and personalities from various walks of life joined in large numbers to encourage the students. The walk concluded at the “I Love Gwadar” point, where school head Khuda Bakhsh Hashim, Principal Nasir Rahim Sehrabi, and students Mahlib Mola Bakhsh, Asma Allah Bakhsh, and Honak Nasir also addressed the gathering. The program was conducted by Faisal Ali, while Naseebullah recited verses from the Holy Quran.
Prominent figures including Nagman Baloch, Faiz Nagori, RCD Council Gwadar’s Majeed Abdullah, Behram Baloch, Abdullah Usman, renowned transporter Nawaz Baloch, and Principal Majeed Khuda Bakhsh attended the event.
World Space Week is celebrated globally from October 4 to 10 each year. In Pakistan, activities are organized under SUPARCO’s Space Education and Awareness Drive (SEAD) in collaboration with educational and research institutions as well as civil society organizations. Gwadar Grammar School is hosting competitions in quiz, spelling, debates, essay writing, poster and painting, and model making, which will continue until October 10.
