Jinnah People’s Metro Train Service an Important Means of Safe and Dignified Travel for Women: Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi
Quetta, September 29: Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for the Women Development Department, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, has termed the launch of the Jinnah People’s Metro Train Service an important step towards providing modern, safe and reliable transportation facilities to citizens, particularly women.
Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi said that access to safe and dignified public transport for women helps expand their opportunities to participate in education, employment, business and other economic and social activities. She said the Jinnah People’s Metro Train Service would provide women with a more organized and convenient means of travelling to different parts of the city.
She added that affordable and quality public transport not only facilitates citizens in their daily commute but also helps reduce travel time and transportation costs. Improved mobility for women is also important for enhancing their economic independence and effective participation in social activities.
The Advisor for Women Development expressed satisfaction over the provision of free travel facilities for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, describing it as a welcome initiative. She said free transportation for these segments of society would improve their mobility and facilitate their access to essential services.
Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi emphasized that addressing the needs of women, senior citizens and persons with disabilities in urban transport projects is essential for inclusive and people-centered urban development.
She said the Jinnah People’s Metro Train Service would not only provide citizens with improved transportation facilities but would also contribute to strengthening Quetta’s public transport system.
