Governor Mandokhail lauds Nawaz Sharif’s democratic services at award unveiling in Quetta
Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who served three times as Prime Minister of Pakistan, rendered invaluable services to the country by making Pakistan a nuclear power and by safeguarding democracy, political struggle, and continuity of the democratic process. He noted that Nawaz Sharif’s sacrifices for democratic institutions and governance are highly commendable.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of “The Real Democrat Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif International Civil Award” at the Governor House Quetta, organized by the Balochistan International Think Tank, Friends of Universe, and Pakistan Muslim League-N Balochistan, Governor Mandokhail described Nawaz Sharif as one of the most prominent political leaders after Khan Abdul Wali Khan. He emphasized his own belief in principled politics and respectful relations with Pashtun and Baloch nationalist leaders, as well as other political figures.
He recalled that during government formation in Balochistan, Nawaz Sharif had clearly directed that all political forces should be taken along, maintaining respect and inclusivity. Mandokhail said that dedicating the award to Nawaz Sharif is a praiseworthy step, as it not only acknowledges the services of a single leader but also highlights the values of democratic struggle, political tolerance, and public service.
The Governor added that recognizing the contributions of democratic leaders helps the younger generation understand the importance of political struggle, democratic values, and service to the people. He expressed hope that such positive initiatives would continue in the future, paying tribute to democratic services.
The ceremony was attended by Members of the National Assembly Jamal Shah Kakar and Akhtar Bibi, provincial ministers Mir Asim Kurd Gilo and Raheela Hamid Khan Durrani, Senator Saeed-ul-Hassan Mandokhail, MPA Zarak Khan Mandokhail, Advisor to CM Naseem-ur-Rehman Mulakhail, Khalil George, Haji Younus Baloch, along with leaders and workers of PML-N and a large number of men and women from various walks of life.
