PPP Leader Meena Majid Baloch criticizes National Party’s failed protest in Kech
Quetta, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Adviser on Sports and Youth Affairs, Meena Majid Baloch, has strongly criticized the National Party’s protest in Kech, describing it as a failed attempt to exploit public sentiment for political gain.
She said the people of Kech rejected the protest, proving that hollow slogans, protest calls, and political theatrics can no longer mislead them. Meena Majid Baloch noted that the government is fully aware of border trade issues, and the IG FC has already clarified that steps are underway to reopen the Jalgi border, though certain reservations from Iranian authorities are being addressed through bilateral talks.
She accused the National Party of attempting to politicize the situation and create the impression that their protest would force the administration to act. However, she stressed that border traders and local communities refused to support the call, recognizing the party’s “political hypocrisy.”
Highlighting ongoing progress, she said weekly lists for Jairk border trade are being issued, while official meetings continue regarding the Jalgi border. She argued that dragging people onto the streets for political credit is not a solution but “open hypocrisy.”
Meena Majid Baloch further stated that the National Party should answer for its past decisions on border policies during its tenure in power. She pointed to former Chief Minister Dr. Malik Baloch’s interview with the BBC as evidence of the party’s earlier stance, urging the public to judge for themselves.
She appealed to citizens to focus on practical development efforts rather than political drama, stressing that today’s failed protest in Kech is proof that people are now fully aware of the National Party’s double standards and are unwilling to be used for narrow political objectives.
