Balochistan Food Authority continues crackdown against adulterated milk and yogurt

Quetta, The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has intensified its crackdown against adulterated milk and yogurt, with operations continuing for the second consecutive day under the directives of the Provincial Minister and Chairman of the Authority.

Food safety teams carried out extensive inspections in Raisani Road, adjoining areas, and Nawan Killi Bypass, targeting milk shops, suppliers, vehicles, motorcycles, and suspected locations.

According to officials, mobile laboratories tested 11,590 liters of milk, of which 2,120 liters were destroyed on the spot after adulteration was confirmed. The campaign also resulted in fines imposed on 16 food business units, while one establishment was sealed.

During the operations, adulteration through water and skimmed milk was detected, and immediate action was taken against violators. In total, more than 50 centers, supply vehicles, motorcycles, rickshaws, and other transport sources were subjected to snap checks.

Director General BFA Habibullah Khan added that the sale and supply of adulterated and substandard milk will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He added that field operations are being made more effective to ensure the public receives safe and pure milk.

He further noted that mobile laboratories are enabling rapid on‑site testing, allowing adulteration to be identified instantly and contaminated milk to be destroyed immediately. Legal action against violators will continue in accordance with food safety laws.
