Meena Majid Baloch represents Pakistan’s youth at 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference

Cape Town/Quetta, Provincial Adviser on Sports and Youth Affairs Meena Majid Baloch proudly represented Pakistan and Balochistan at the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC), held in Cape Town, South Africa.

Speaking at the Youth Roundtable Session on September 16, she represented the entire Asia region, highlighting the challenges, opportunities, and future prospects of young people. She emphasized the importance of effective youth participation in decision‑making and policy formulation, stressing that empowering youth voices is essential for shaping inclusive governance.

Baloch noted that Pakistan’s democratic assemblies now include nearly 30 percent youth representation, while 62 percent of the country’s population comprises young people. She described this demographic as rich in energy, talent, skills, and determination, with the capacity to lead Pakistan toward development, prosperity, and a brighter future.

The CPC is an annual global platform where parliamentarians, officials, and policymakers from Commonwealth nations engage in dialogue on shared political, parliamentary, and social issues. This year’s 69th session brought together hundreds of parliamentarians, parliamentary staff, and decision‑makers from across the Commonwealth.

Observers described Baloch’s participation as a proud moment for Pakistan and Balochistan, as she effectively voiced the concerns and aspirations of the region’s youth before the international parliamentary community.
