National Book Foundation hosts mega literary event at Helpers School Quetta
The National Book Foundation (NBF) Quetta organized a grand mega literary and educational event at Helpers School (Boys & Girls), Satellite Town Quetta, as part of the ongoing celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversaries of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The event featured essay writing, book reading, and debate competitions, where students enthusiastically showcased their literary, academic, and creative talents. Winners of the competitions were awarded valuable books and certificates of appreciation by NBF, with the aim of promoting reading culture and connecting youth with books.
Principal of Helpers School, Muhammad Asif Akhtar, attended the ceremony alongside Raheel Ahmed Bugti, Assistant Director NBF Quetta, as well as faculty members and NBF staff. A special book stall was also set up, drawing keen interest from students who explored titles across diverse subjects.
Speakers emphasized that books and reading remain the most effective means of intellectual and academic training for the younger generation, and stressed the importance of organizing such activities to strengthen the culture of reading in educational institutions.
NBF officials expressed gratitude to the school administration, teachers, and students, reaffirming its commitment to expanding initiatives that foster book-friendliness, reading promotion, and literary engagement across Quetta and Balochistan.
