Heavy rain forecast in northeastern Balochistan; flash flood risk alert issued

 

The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) Quetta has issued a forecast heavy rainfall in northeastern Balochistan that may cause flash floods in streams, nullahs, and hill torrents. Low-lying areas could also face waterlogging during the wet spell.

 

The advisory cautioned that windstorms, lightning, and heavy rains may damage weak structures including solar panels, electric poles, and billboards.

 

According to the RMC, most districts will experience hot weather, while very hot conditions are expected in Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Sibi, Washuk, Kharan, Nushki, Kech, Awaran, Panjgur, Naseerabad division and adjoining areas.

 

Partly cloudy skies with chances of rain, wind, and thunderstorms are forecast for Zhob, Barkhan, Loralai, Duki, Sibi, Kachhi, Kalat, Mastung, Dera Bugti, Musakhail, Sherani, Khuzdar, Awaran, Ziarat, Harnai, Kohlu, and the outskirts of Quetta. Gusty winds may also occur in some parts of the province.

 

The highest temperature recorded was 44.0°C in Nokkundi, while the lowest was 32.0°C in Kalat and Ormara. Other district readings included Quetta at 36.5°C, Turbat at 42.5°C, Lasbella at 43.5°C, Uthal at 41.0°C, Gwadar at 36.5°C, and Jiwani at 35.0°C.
