Modernising Police Patrolling in Balochistan

Modernising Police Patrolling in Balochistan

The Balochistan Police is taking practical steps to modernise its policing system and strengthen its field operations in line with the changing requirements of law enforcement. On the special directives of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir, new motorcycles are being provided to police personnel at the district level to improve patrolling, enhance police mobility and maintain closer surveillance of criminal elements.

As part of this initiative, a total of 31 new CG-125 motorcycles have been provided to the police forces of Osta Muhammad and Nasirabad districts. The provision of these vehicles is aimed at strengthening routine police patrolling, improving response time and enabling police personnel to reach different areas more efficiently.

In Osta Muhammad, 15 new CG-125 motorcycles have been provided to facilitate police operations and strengthen the patrolling system. Superintendent of Police Osta Muhammad Hafiz Muaz-ur-Rehman handed over the motorcycle keys to the Station House Officers and officers in charge of the respective police stations.

Speaking on the occasion, the SP directed the concerned officers and personnel to ensure proper maintenance of the motorcycles and arrange timely repairs whenever required. He stressed that the vehicles should be used responsibly and effectively for police patrolling and the performance of official duties.

The provision of new motorcycles, he said, would help improve the police patrolling mechanism in the city and surrounding areas. Greater mobility would enable police personnel to respond more quickly to incidents, strengthen preventive policing and contribute to the protection and safety of citizens.

In a similar move, Nasirabad Police has also received 16 new 125-CG motorcycles. Senior Superintendent of Police Nasirabad Asad Khan Nasir distributed the motorcycles among personnel deployed at City Police Station, Sadar Police Station, Mangoli, Manjhoshori, Mir Hassan and the 15 Madadgar service.

The initiative is expected to expand the geographical reach and duration of police patrolling in Nasirabad while improving the department’s capacity for rapid response. With greater mobility available to frontline personnel, police teams will be better positioned to respond to emergencies, monitor vulnerable areas and take timely action against criminal activities.

SSP Nasirabad Asad Khan Nasir said that the availability of new motorcycles would increase the effectiveness of police patrolling and improve the department’s response capability. He emphasised that modern operational resources were essential for enhancing the professional capacity of the police and ensuring better public service delivery.

The district-level provision of motorcycles reflects a broader approach towards making policing more active, responsive and better equipped. While modern technology and digital systems are increasingly becoming part of contemporary law enforcement, mobility remains a fundamental requirement for effective policing, particularly in areas where rapid access to streets, neighbourhoods and remote locations is essential.

The initiative underlines the importance being attached to strengthening the operational capacity of the Balochistan Police. By equipping frontline personnel with necessary resources, the police can expand its presence on the ground, improve response times and reinforce preventive measures against crime.

For citizens, a more visible and mobile police force can translate into quicker assistance and improved confidence in public safety services. The continued provision of operational resources, coupled with responsible use and proper maintenance, can therefore play an important role in building a more efficient and responsive policing system across Balochistan.
