Balochistan and UK to strengthen cooperation for public welfare and sustainable development

Islamabad, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti met with the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, to discuss avenues of cooperation in education, health, governance, institutional capacity building, and investment. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral ties and promoting development initiatives in the province.

 

During the discussion, the Chief Minister briefed the High Commissioner on ongoing administrative reforms, welfare projects, and the government’s development priorities. He emphasized that the establishment of peace, sustainable development, effective governance, and provision of better facilities to the people are among the government’s foremost objectives.

 

Highlighting Balochistan’s rich mineral resources, strategic geographic importance, and vast investment opportunities, Bugti said that international partnerships are opening new prospects for growth and prosperity in the province. He expressed hope that cooperation between the UK and Balochistan across multiple sectors would further strengthen, helping achieve public welfare and sustainable development goals.

 

High Commissioner Jane Marriott appreciated the reform programs and development initiatives underway in Balochistan. She expressed keen interest in expanding collaboration across various fields and lauded the provincial government’s commitment to serving the people.
