Governor Balochistan meets Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism and Culture, stresses promotion of heritage and festivals
Quetta, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail met Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism and Culture Nawabzada Zareen Magsi at Governor House Quetta to discuss initiatives for promoting culture, tourism, indigenous languages, literature, and arts, as well as enhancing the province’s positive image.
Governor Mandokhail highlighted that Balochistan, with its ancient cultural heritage, historic sites, long coastal belt, and rare wildlife, holds immense potential as an attractive destination for tourists worldwide. He emphasized that organized promotion of tourism and culture could not only attract investment but also generate new employment opportunities at the local level.
The Governor urged the Parliamentary Secretary to ensure regular organization of seminars and cultural programs to encourage poets, writers, intellectuals, and artists, alongside efforts to preserve and promote mother languages. He noted that throughout his political career, he has maintained close and cordial relations with individuals associated with culture, literature, and media, offering them support in both good and difficult times.
Jaffar Mandokhail praised last year’s Balochistan Grand Tourism Festival in Islamabad as a constructive initiative and stressed that such festivals should be held periodically. He added that to make these events more effective, participation of local TV artists, singers, poets, and writers must be ensured.
He concluded by underscoring the need to preserve Balochistan’s rich cultural heritage while aligning it with modern demands, so that it can be effectively showcased to the younger generation and the international community.
