Governor Mandokhail, Minister Abdul Aleem Khan review Rs. 415 billion Karachi–Quetta–Chaman Expressway project
Islamabad, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail met Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan in Islamabad to discuss the province’s communication sector, ongoing and proposed National Highway Authority (NHA) projects, and the development of major highways.
The meeting reviewed progress on the N-25 Karachi–Quetta–Chaman Pakistan Expressway, a landmark project costing Rs. 415 billion, along with other NHA initiatives including the Zhob Bypass and key provincial highways.
Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said the expressway would significantly reduce travel time and distance between Karachi and Quetta, making journeys faster and more convenient. He emphasized that the N-25 would serve as a vital trade corridor for Balochistan and Pakistan, boosting commerce, transportation, and economic activity.
Highlighting Balochistan’s strategic importance, Khan stressed that a modern and secure road network is essential for national development and regional trade. He assured that the Ministry of Communications and NHA are closely monitoring progress and taking all necessary measures to improve transportation facilities across the province.
Governor Mandokhail thanked the federal minister for prioritizing highway projects in Balochistan, praising NHA’s services in road construction and development. He noted that completion of these projects would provide citizens with better travel facilities and open new opportunities for trade and economic growth.
Federal Secretary for Communications, Chairman NHA, and other senior officials also attended the meeting, reaffirming the government’s commitment to completing highway projects in Balochistan on a priority basis.
