Deadly clash between two groups in Dadu leaves eight dead
Dadu, A violent confrontation between two factions of the Chandio community in the riverine area of Dadu has left eight people dead and three others injured, including a female passerby.
According to rescue sources, six members of one group and two from the rival faction were killed during the intense exchange of gunfire, which turned the locality into a battlefield and spread panic among residents, forcing them to remain confined to their homes.
The deceased have been identified as Bachal Chandio, Manzoor Chandio, Sultan Chandio, Zulfiqar Chandio, Hajin Chandio, and Fida Chandio. From the Sheikh Gulab group, two brothers — Didar Chandio and Gul Bahar Chandio — were confirmed among the dead. Injured individuals include Mumtaz Chandio and Ghulam Qadir Chandio, with Mumtaz’s condition reported as critical.
Police, led by DSP City Akbar Chana, reached the scene with heavy contingents to restore order. Rescue teams shifted the injured to Dadu District Headquarters Hospital, while Mumtaz Chandio was later referred to Sehwan Hospital due to his critical condition.
Chief Minister Sindh has taken notice of the incident, directing the Inspector General of Police to submit a detailed report. He also ordered immediate action to bring the perpetrators to justice. Expressing grief over the loss of lives, the Chief Minister extended condolences to the bereaved families.
