Pakistan’s national interest above politics, strong support for new provinces: Aleem Khan

Islamabad, President of the Istihkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), Abdul Aleem Khan, has declared that Pakistan’s national interest must remain above all political considerations, reiterating the party’s firm commitment to the creation of new provinces and smaller administrative units to ensure effective governance and public welfare.

Presiding over a party meeting, Abdul Aleem Khan said: “Pakistan is more important and sacred than personal interests and politics. The creation of new provinces has become indispensable to move the country forward.” He emphasized that relief for citizens cannot be achieved without restructuring administrative units, adding that whether politically convenient or not, new provinces must be established.

The meeting was attended by IPP Secretary General Mian Khalid Mahmood, Provincial President Rana Nazir Ahmed Khan, Gilgit-Baltistan Provincial Minister Haji Anwar Ali, and GB Assembly Member Imam Maalik. Participants reaffirmed the party’s commitment to advancing the cause of new provinces and agreed to formulate a concrete party-level strategy.

Abdul Aleem Khan stressed that no government, office, or position is more important than Pakistan’s integrity and national interest. He stated: “We will not hesitate to make any sacrifice for Pakistan’s survival, development, and prosperity.” He further noted that smaller administrative units are essential to resolve citizens’ problems at their doorstep.

The IPP President expressed full support for the proposed Hazara province, the restoration of a separate Bahawalpur province, and consideration of a Saraiki province comprising Multan and adjoining areas. He reiterated that the IPP would extend support at every forum for the creation of new provinces and would back any political party taking practical steps in this direction.

The meeting concluded with a decision to formulate and implement a comprehensive strategy to pursue the establishment of new provinces and administrative units, reaffirming the IPP’s stance that Pakistan’s national interest must always come first.
