Quetta–Harnai highway reopened after truck accident: DC Jamali
The district administration of Harnai has once again demonstrated its timely strategy and effective performance by restoring traffic on the Quetta–Harnai National Highway for all types of vehicles after a major accident blocked the route.
According to officials, the incident occurred at Chappar Left, a difficult and sensitive section of the highway, where a coal-laden heavy truck suddenly overturned. The accident completely halted traffic between Quetta and Harnai, leaving long queues of passenger buses, trucks, and smaller vehicles stranded on both sides. Passengers, including women, children, and patients, faced severe hardship.
On the urgent instructions of Deputy Commissioner Harnai Arshad Hussain Jamali, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Muhammad Saleem Tareen and Executive Engineer B&R Aminullah Mandokhail immediately reached the site with heavy machinery and staff. Rescue and clearance operations were launched without delay, and despite the darkness of night, teams worked tirelessly to remove the overturned truck and debris.
The highway has fully cleared and reopened for traffic, allowing stranded passengers to continue their journeys safely.
The public and travelers widely appreciated the swift and people-centered response of the district administration, particularly ADC Saleem Tareen and Engineer Mandokhail, thanking them for their prompt action that alleviated the difficulties of hundreds of passengers.
