Unregistered NGOs in Gwadar directed to begin legal registration process
Acting on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner Gwadar, the Social Welfare Department has ordered all unregistered NGOs, international organizations, and other non‑governmental entities operating in the district to immediately initiate registration with the Balochistan Charities Registration Authority (BCRA).
According to a notification issued by the Deputy Director Social Welfare Gwadar, organizations have been asked to submit complete and updated records, including details of their legal status, ongoing and proposed projects, activities, staff, beneficiaries, focal persons, and valid NOCs or other permits. All relevant institutions have been directed to provide the required information and documents to the Social Welfare Department within seven days of receiving the notice.
The notification made clear that continuing activities without fulfilling legal registration and mandatory requirements will be considered unlawful, and action will be taken under applicable laws and regulations without further notice.
Officials explained that the purpose of this initiative is to make social and developmental activities in Gwadar legal, organized, transparent, and coordinated, thereby strengthening institutional linkages, monitoring, and welfare measures for the public.
This directive underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that NGOs and organizations working in Gwadar operate within a regulated framework, enhancing accountability and improving the effectiveness of community development programs.
