Judicial Inquiry Commission probes Mangi Dam terrorist attack in Ziarat
The Judicial Inquiry Commission, established by the Balochistan government under the chairmanship of Justice Muhammad Amir Nawaz Rana, is conducting a comprehensive and impartial investigation into the terrorist incident at the Mangi Dam pumping station in Ziarat district.
According to the official handout, the commission is examining all aspects of the tragedy, including the facts of the incident, underlying causes and motives, determination of responsibility, security arrangements, police preparedness, counter‑terrorism measures, and other related matters. The primary objective is to uncover the complete truth, assign accountability, and formulate effective recommendations to prevent such incidents in the future.
The statement emphasized the sensitive nature of the case, urging the public and media to avoid speculation, unverified information, rumors, or premature opinions. The commission assured that its proceedings will be based strictly on available records, documents, evidence, and established legal and investigative principles. Final findings and recommendations will be presented in the commission’s official report.
Citizens, institutions, and individuals have been requested to extend full cooperation by providing accurate information, evidence, and relevant documents. The handout specified that until August 28, 2026, during office hours, all concerned persons may appear before the Registrar/Secretary of the Commission at the Balochistan High Court, Quetta, and submit their details including name, designation/profession, current and permanent address, contact number, and a copy of their CNIC along with any evidence or documents related to the incident.
The commission stressed that only authentic and verifiable information should be presented to ensure that the investigation is completed in a transparent, impartial, and effective manner.
