President Asif Ali Zardari meets CM Sarfraz Bugti, discusses Balochistan’s development and security
ISLAMABAD, President Asif Ali Zardari met Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, where they held detailed discussions on the province’s political, administrative, security situation, ongoing development projects, and welfare initiatives.
During the meeting, CM Sarfraz Bugti briefed the President on the progress of development schemes, welfare measures for the people, and the overall law and order situation in Balochistan. Both leaders emphasized the need to strengthen federal-provincial coordination to accelerate development and ensure delivery of basic facilities to citizens.
President Asif Ali Zardari underscored that sustainable peace and prosperity in Balochistan require effective cooperation between federal and provincial governments. He stressed that Pakistan’s largest province by area must receive resources and attention in line with its needs and potential. Commending the provincial government’s efforts, he assured that the federal government will extend full support to Balochistan’s journey of progress.
The President also highlighted the challenge posed by terrorist elements backed externally, noting that their attempts to hinder Balochistan’s development will be defeated. He expressed confidence that with the combined resolve of state institutions and the people, terrorism will be eliminated and Balochistan will move towards peace, development, and prosperity.
CM Sarfraz Bugti thanked the President for his support, reaffirming that the provincial government is committed to peace-building, speeding up development, creating opportunities for youth, and ensuring basic services. He stressed that Balochistan’s development is directly linked to peace, and the government is determined to deliver the fruits of progress to the people at their doorstep.
The meeting was also attended by PPP Women’s Wing President Faryal Talpur and former provincial minister Mir Ali Hassan Zehri, where further discussions were held on Balochistan’s overall situation, development process, and welfare measures.
