DC Sohbatpur reviews security and arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions
Deputy Commissioner Fareeda Tareen chaired a high-level meeting to review security, peace, and administrative arrangements for the upcoming 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrations. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner, police officers, district administration officials, representatives of municipal committee, Rescue 1122, health and education departments, traffic police, and scholars from all schools of thought.
The meeting examined arrangements for religious gatherings, processions, and related events. Detailed briefings were given on procession routes, entry and exit points, security of religious sites, deployment of police personnel, traffic management, parking facilities, sanitation, removal of encroachments, street lighting, provision of clean drinking water, medical facilities, and emergency response measures.
Addressing the participants, DC Fareeda Tareen said that 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal is a sacred and blessed day for Muslims, and providing citizens with a peaceful and secure environment is the district administration’s foremost priority. She directed foolproof security for all processions and religious gatherings, ensuring that people can express their devotion without fear.
Police authorities were instructed to deploy additional personnel at key locations, strictly implement the security plan, and keep close watch on suspicious activities. The municipal committee was tasked with ensuring special cleanliness arrangements, removal of encroachments, repair of faulty street lights, and provision of adequate lighting at night.
Health and Rescue officials were directed to keep ambulances, medical staff, and emergency resources available along procession routes. Traffic police were ordered to implement a comprehensive traffic plan, maintain smooth flow, and arrange alternative routes and parking facilities to avoid inconvenience to citizens.
The DC emphasized inter-departmental coordination and immediate reporting of any emergency or untoward incident to the district administration for timely action. She also appealed to scholars of all sects to promote peace, harmony, tolerance, and unity through their sermons and messages, urging citizens to respect each other’s religious sentiments and uphold law and order.
She concluded that with the joint cooperation of administration, police, institutions, and scholars, Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated in an atmosphere of devotion, respect, peace, and religious harmony.
